Tulsa woman convicted in 2024 deadly crash involving fire truck sues city, TFD

Prosecutors say Keiosha Rucker was under the influence of cocaine and marijuana when she pulled in front of a fire truck that had its lights and sirens running in February 2024. The crash killed Rucker's two children, another child, a woman and a pregnant woman's unborn baby.

Just remember to drive with due regard. Not every driver is going to be under the influence of mind-altering substances, and a good enough lawyer will put attention on reckless actions that responders commit.

On top of that, our vehicles are incredibly heavy and need to be respected as such.

Personally, I think the FD should settle the first lawsuit and fight the 2nd lawsuit. A person under the influence shouldn't be able to cause a crash and then sue the FD for damages; it sets a horrible precedent, and the ambulance chasing attorney who filed this case should be tarred and feathered. In addition, going 60+ on a local road in an engine is unsafe, reckless, and I hope the driver was ticketed, too.

4) People WILL do stupid things. Some might be high as a kite, while others are just distracted; but the driver of the vehicle is still responsible for what happens when they are behind the wheel.

In short, I agree. I try to follow my mindset I've been trained to have: "It's their emergency, not yours."
