Raptors feel stiff?

I recently received raptor trauma shears as a gift from my significant other. I noticed they feel really stiff? I’ve only ever used the shears stocked on the rigs or the ones already in the trauma room at the hospital I work at. They cut fine obviously but just feel stiff and are difficult to cut with. Am I able to oil them or apply wd40 or anything to make them cut easier?

They usually come stiff out of the box. You can just open and close them a couple of dozen times to loosen them up. Alternatively, there is one hex screw that secures the two cutting blades of the scissors that you can loosen. You’ll know it’s the right one because it’s the only hex screw that a standard bit can fit into (the rest are security screws with a little post in the middle that prevents a standard bit from getting in).
