Yeah man.

Pros:
YOU ARE THE MEDIC. No secondary status. You are the primary care provider.

Schedule for medics is Week1:2on/5off Week2:3on/4off. Makes it a doable schedule if you’ll be commuting to Porterville.

Starting pay is $17.50/Hr last I checked. You get paid for all YOUR TIME while on the clock. No dock in pay for sleeping. OT after 40 for the week.

Sign on bonus, relocation bonus.

Cons:
It’s a busy system. Not as busy as LA but definitely busy due to moves up, IFT, LDT and 911.

So all in all, good company to get your feet wet and get great experience with good pay.

Thank you for the info! Overtime after 40 is great! I am just waiting on my state card to arrive and then hope to apply 🙌🏻 I will be commuting from Los Angeles as well so that schedule works great

Do you know how much a medic typically makes annually? Sounds like around 60k if OT after 40

Yeah I was commuting from LA when I started and finally made the move but it’s worth the drive for the pay and schedule compared to most privates in SoCal. It ain’t the perfect company but I’ve worked in worst. PM me if you need more info.

You’ll make the $60K without any extra shifts but there’s always OT available.

Any info on American/Visalia or their totally different American/Fresno?
