Where do you buy your boots for EMS? I'm looking for some comfortable, durable boots to purchase. Once I am voted into the department I will be running a 48 hour shift so something comfortable is important. :)

Go to walmart and get the construction grade timberlands...they are that orange-raw leather look... They are perfect for water resistance and all the medics wear them

We really need a sticky boot...
Or um a sticky about boots. For EMS, I like my Magnum boots, for Wildland I wear Hawthornes, cheaper than the whites.

The running forum I go to has the same threads about shoes. At least in running, everyone has different needs as far as shoes go.

I like Red Wings.

For running, I been dying to tryout the new Reebok Realflex shoe.

Nike Air Pegasus. I need a little support in life. :)

It looks similar to the realflex. Have you used the Pegasus? Good, bad? I run offroad so I need a shoe to absorb rock hits and such.

I love these shoes. I am a newbie runner, and initially was struggling with my arches and shin splints and who knows what else. I was wearing powerstep insoles in the first pair of the Nike Pegasus that I got. The second pair, I seem to have outgrown my need for support.

I mostly run on roads, but am training for the Tough Mudder, so I'm going offroad all summer. They are great for either, but my new pair picks up rocks a lot. I have to stop and pick them out if I'm running on a hard surface.

Right now, I'm getting over a knee injury, but I'll hopefully be back in action next week.

The "cool" part of these shoes is that our medevac helicoptor is named Pegasus, so I'm so awesome, all the other kids wanna be me. ;)

Decisions, decisions, hmm, I will have to check that shoe out. I actually started running offroad, as onroad caused me knee and back problems. With offroad running I suffer less impact injury, but a pointy rock always hurts if your not looking.

Seriously. Find a running store, one crowded with notices for races, and crawling with people who look like they're on the way to a camping trip. Then get the guy and tell him you want shoes.

They get you to run and walk, analyze your gait and listen to what you say about where you run. They're even smart enough to hear what's wrong with your old shoes and recommend something that avoids those weaknesses.

I went to a running store that was clean and neat and they sucked, though.

If you're in VA, Ragged Mountain Running Shop is what I'm talking about.

Duh, not VA, but I'm sure there's something in San Diego.
