Hey everyone,

I am new to EMTLife and just thought I would share with you this 6 part reality tv show/documentary that follows a day in the life of paramedics working in Sydney, Australia. All 6 episodes can be found on Youtube. Type 'nswambulance help' into the 'search' section and it should be listed. (I wasn't able to post links in this post).

The series originally aired on SBS in 2006 and since then changes have been made to the the Ambulance of NSW including new vehicles, uniforms and a name change from 'Ambulance Officers' to 'Paramedics'.

You can see the changes in a Youtube video titles 'Sydney Ambulance Centre Ridealong'.

I hope you enjoy this series as much as I have. It helped to inspire me to become a paramedic. I apologise if these has been posted before and please feel free to share any other videos you may have found. Thanks.

It has been posted before.

Are you from Australia mate, Brown is a Kiwi.

I really wish these shows would show the less glamorous stuff like the jobs I did today :)

lights & siren to cold/flu
2 x psych cases. Drove 30 minutes to 1 hospital only to be told to go away due to being on bypass ( we had not been informed by comms)
drove 30 more minutes to the next one.

2 hrs ovetime to make 14 hour shift, back on again at 7am

lool

While you were doing that, pan to the other side of town where Brown and his mate had Dr Rashford come and intubate a guy the Queensland Police beat the crap out of for being a smart bugger

Wait, never mind, that doesn't happen :D

Haven't you guys ever watched "Trauma"? They finally nailed my job, since I get an average of 4-5 MCIs per week.

How do you get time to get "busy" in the back of the ambulance?! :P
