You think you work in a rough area?

"Get's caught in the crossfire"

Well, they obviously don't teach scene safety over there!

there is a safe scene over there?

Again, I really dont want to start a political debate, and dont want to get into it myself, but I urge you not to trust everything you see on the internet or the news. I was just in Israel myself, the ground reality is not pretty on either side, but not what is being protrayed to the world.

I know personally on the Israeli side, the finest training, drills, equipment and personnel are working in pre-hospital and mass casualty care, and I have personally seen the finest treatment and transport provided after these attacks. I worked in Sderot, which has now become a ghost town. When the air-raid sirens go off, citizens have a min of 30 seconds to reach a bomb shelter. While the citizens are taking cover, the finest medics, paramedics and doctors are out on the streets.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society is a direct arm of the International Red Cross, and are the primary responders in the West Bank and Gaza. They are supported by the world community, and obey all wartime laws and treaties as well as providing quality pre-hospital medical care. The problems come from neighborhood ambulances or counterfit operations, that smuggle arms, bomb material and personnel through the checkpoints.

Again, there is much more to this than is reported, and I simply dont want to get into it here.

Great post! I have a friend who was over in Sderot also and he was telling me the same things.
Also, how much do you see in the news about the Israeli hospitals and EMS people who are doing everything the can to treat the injured Palistinians who the come across. They are given the same care that any Israeli would be given. Instead you hear about how many bullet holes are in some poor guys ambulance. I mean come on! If you drive around in the middle of a war, you might, since there is this slight chance that people will be shooting at each other, get a bullet hole or two in your rig! Do you hear about the Israeli family who is taken out in one instant, from the 98 year old grandfather to the 2 month old grand-baby, by a rocket attack? No. You hear about the poor innocent Palistinian man, who may or may not be a fighter, but lets give him the benifit of the doubt because he is in civilian clothes-never mind that the rest of Hammas is too, who had his hand blown off.

So, coming from a millitary background, be carefull what you beleive coming from the media.

Not for as long as Hamas is there.

(prepares for debate to ensue.)

Nope, there will be NO debate on this topic. This is not the place to discuss if one political group is right or wrong.
