Long story short, I am currently deployed to Kuwait, I'll be home in March sometime and then I retire from the Army about 4 months after that.
I am a Kansas A-EMT and I've been a volly FF for about 2 years. No real EMS experience other than ride alongs, clinicals, and the occasional EMS call that I respond to as a volly.
My question is, should I be sending unsolicited e-mails to EMS agencies that I'd like to work for after retirement? I obviously can't do interviews or talk to them on the phone from here, but I was thinking maybe I could get my name out there and get some leads, maybe even offers for interviews once I get home.
Do you think that would backfire? Would it do more harm than good or is it a good idea?
Any input is appreciated.
