Why so hard to find EMT work? PA

I have been looking for a part-time paid EMT position. I put applications after applications with no luck! I'm a new EMT and cannot afford to work for free, I really want to work as an EMT. How are we sapose to get experience if nobody will hire you?

Volunteer. PA is a huge volunteer state. It also depends what part of the state you're in.

You could also try working in a transport company like TransCare.

Which part of PA are you from, out of curiosity? If you're from around Philly I know a few good places.

I'm not close enough to Philly. I live in northeast pa Williamsport area.

Second Alarmers Rescue Squad is always accepting resumes, and from I hear is a great place to work.
Uwchlan Ambulance might still be hiring for EMTs... I'd check their website. Also Trappe Ambulance. They're both competing for a new contract with a town and I think both are preparing to hire if they get it.
Transcare is the big IFT company in the burbs.
Definitely volunteer while you're looking.
