I really want to be ahead of my class & increase my chances in passing my EMT course. Any suggestions will help. Please & Thank you.

Honestly, I went into EMT class with just my AHA BLS cert and no other knowledge and passed just fine. If anything, study up on anatomy/physiology, but you will learn what you need to know in class.

Read your text book. That's all you need.

Julieta7, I agree with the above suggestions, and would just add that if you're new to EMS, the practical parts of EMT class will probably be more challenging than the written material. I'm not saying it's hard -- just different from most high school courses. For me, the most difficult part was getting used to people looking over my shoulder while I worked through practical scenarios. If you can get comfortable showing what you know and making mistakes in front of an audience, that'll help -- not only in EMT class, but in EMS.
