Hey everyone,

So I have one more month of class until im ready for the NREMT. My questions are:

1. How long after I finish can I take the NREMT? (my grades will be sufficient)
2. Should I get NREMT prep books? If so, which ones do you recommend?
3. When is the skills testing done - only in my class, or do I have to skills test for the state as well?
4. What should I do to best be prepared for the skills testing?
5. Do you have any other suggestions to get me ready for my skills testing and the NREMT???

Thanks in advance!!

Use the search feature and browse this subforum for more information. These questions have been answered before, but I don't mind so:

1) Your instructor notifies the NREMT once you have passed the class. The quicker he does this, the sooner you can take it.

2) If you are doing well in the class I would not bother with getting books and all that. If you do well on your class final you will do well on the NREMT test. Just take the test reasonably soon after you finish the class. I did not study for the NREMT.

3) I only did skills testing in class, it was good enough for two states and the NREMT. I am not sure if the same will be true for you, I don't know where you live.

4) Find the check sheets for your skills test. Get together with your classmates and practice, but make sure people are harsh enough to fail one another if they have too so you don't learn something wrong and unwittingly carry it into test day.

5) If you are doing well in the class, you should do well on the test. The NREMT was no harder than my class final, but the adaptive test thing sometimes throws people for a loop. Don't worry, it's just another multiple choice test in a world full of them.
