Did you mean to post this here? This is the area for questions and suggestions regarding the usage of the forum itself. Also, I have no idea what you're asking.

Yeh I should have posted in another forum.

What wetfag numbers would you use for example with an 11 month old or an 18 month old

Okay. Moved to EMS Talk.

I have never heard of this mnemonic before, but a quick Google search gave me this.

It seems to indicate that based on this formula, you can estimate age for children less than 1 year old by 0.5 x age in months + 4.

A better solution would seem to me to either ask what the child weighs or use some kind of weight estimation tape, but whatever works I guess.

Were i am we dont use tapes and we have formulas for calculating the patients weight

1-5 YEARS AGE IN YEARS X 2 + 8 KG
> 5 YEARS AGE IN YEARS X 3 + 7 KG

NEONATE = 3.5 KG
6 MONTHS = 6 KG

ANYONE USING THIS METHOD WHAT WOULD USE BETWEEN 6 MONTHS AND 1 YEAR ?

Your own formula answers this.
min age 6 months: 6 MONTHS = 6 KG
max age 1 yr: 1-5 YEARS AGE IN YEARS X 2 + 8 KG ---> 1x2+8= 10kg.

So using what you have, it would be between 6kg and 10kg. Just estimate it from there with the age you are given. You already know 6 and 12 months. 9 months? Cool, split the difference and go with about 8kg.

I have the PediSTAT app on my phone. A couple of dollars very well spent.

Failing that, I'll use the (Age) x 2 + 8, the Broselow Tape, or a custom pediatric dosing chart that we have.

An issue I have with this chart is there aren't actually drug dosages on there ... dealing with your 5 year old, how much is 0.4ml of Versed? Not all vials and amps are in the same concentration. Even in our own kits, the preloads and vials of BiCarb are two different concentrations ...

They are customized to your system and protocols. You figure out the variations.
