Going to be moving to west central Illinois or southeast Iowa in about a year. Any one familiar with the area? What are the job prospects like there? Do they generally work 12 or 24hr shifts? What is the pay like?

Not sure exactly where you are looking, but I lived in Colusa, Il. a few years ago (near Keokuk and Burlington IA), everything seemed to be volunteer. My MIL worked at the hospital and the medics there made about $10.00 an hr. not sure what certifications she was going by. What town are you looking at and I can find out if its near.

Can you be more specific? I was in Peoria for ~1 year
 
I will be living in Louisa, Henry, or Des Moines county Iowa. Not sure which one, but one of those. Thanks for the replys.
