Not sure if that link will work as the video required me logging in an confirming I was 'not a minor'. The video is of a graphic PSA released by wales I believe that is intended to show the dangers of texting while driving. I'm guessing this is just a big an issue in the UK as it is in the states. The video is kinda silly on the crash part although graphic enough (the sound effects are kinda the silly side). The aftermath and everything is relatively accurate from the portrayal of fire, ems and police response. I wasn't paying too much attention so I may have missed some of the errors (glaring or otherwise).

Just thought it was a kind of neat video and reminds me of when I was in HS right before prom every year we did a 'drunk driving' thing on the football field. During that they had wrecked vehicles and patients moulaged inside. Everyone would file into the stands and down on the track the patients sat with their makeup on completely motionless. It started when teh fire trucks and police came into the field then EMS arrived, they made a show of declaring some of them dead and then flew a helicopter in and loaded one of the students up (didn't take off and powered down once landed).

We did something like that at my school, but every 18 minutes theyd call a kid out of class at random, saying that they were killed in a drunk driving incedent, then there would be a "memorial" for the students that died and a "trial" for the drunk driver and the chopper would actually take off with the student.

I think more graphic and sullen PSA's like this drive the message home better then the American PSAs and commercials that use humor, ala and and and And even this, while can be a little... negative and doesn't use humor, still doesn't really drive the point home

And this

I think the shock value is good, it makes people wake up and pay attention. There was a post around here about this awhile ago, too.

Abstract: This study measured teen alcohol consumption, attitudes, and behaviors towards DWI. The intervention high school received the pre- and post-survey, with a another high school as the control group. In the previous month, students reported that 50% drank alcohol, 37% drank heavily, 33% rode with a DWI driver, and 16% reported DWI. The intervention program had a favorable impact on attitudes but not behavior. Survey and focus group data suggested there would be no sustained behavioral change without combining the intervention with stronger DWI law enforcement, community support, and educational programs.

my HS did the same thing, I was actually involved with it, I was one of the students at the Party. It was a great experience, I think every HS across the united states should have to do it before PROM

Everyone that was at the party and involved in the accident took two days off of school and went to the POST Academy where we learned about ETOH involved crashes in the United States. We also wrote a final letter home to our parents and loved ones saying that we had died type of thing.

Tap the hood and tell them keep looking strainght. It stops the quick looks to the right when you appear at the door.
