The girl driving took a direct side hit by the car t-boning hers.
Sorry Vent..just wanted to point out that the girl that took the direct hit from the T-bone was the front seat passenger....In England, the driver is on the right hand side of the car.
Re the comment on the side impact..isn't that why the motor industry now have side airbags. Due to the amount of deaths or brain injury,
caused by this sort of MVA. Re the speed of the car. I've been in a side impact accident. Lucky for me, the direct hit was to the back door of the car , not the passengers.
The car got into a skid on a greasy road.Slid across the road 180 degrees, just missing an oncoming car. We were only going about 50km (about 30 MPH) as it was a sharp sweeping bend. The back door wrapped around a large fence post.
I hate to think what my injuries would have been if I'd taken the hit(The car was a right off). If I'd been alive, to tell the tale even. So that being said...speed is not always the factor!
Just re using the cellphone while driving...in New Zealand
From November 2009, it will be illegal to talk or send texts while behind the steering wheel. And those who break the law will face an $80 fine and 20 demerit points.
Not sure if you have a demerit point system in the States. If you get up to a certain amount of demerit points, you loss your drivers licence for a period of time. Usually 6 months to a year.
