So, here I am, Mr Whitecloud Medic, enjoying the fact that people don't die when I'm around, regardless of how many times they go in to Vtach. But NOOO, usalfyre has to jynx me.

Got called to a possible seizure. We get there, and the patient is awake, talks to me, and answers questions appropriately. Did a 12-lead and saw this:

Despite the ST-elevation-ish in V1/V2, patient denies chest pain, pressure, nausea, weakness or shortness of breath-- no complaints at all.

We head outside to get in the ambulance and walking up to the ambulance the patient is still talking. Lift the stretcher to put the patient in and my captain goes "I don't think they're breathing", I hop in and feel for a pulse: None. Patient had agonal respirations. The patient had a DNR, so I just thought I'd grab a 12 of what the heck just happened and got this (Yes, still pulseless)

And a minute later, this:

I darn well better have an uneventful first shift on Sunday, usalfyre! Or else!

Cool, sorta. At least she was a DNR.

The third link made my virus protector go haywire, might want to check that.

Maybe you should quit crying about having real patients, since you cried about transport for 8 months...

HAHA :)

We are all witnesses!

They don't count as 'real patients' if you can't do anything medical!

Don't change the topic! We're discussing usalfyres killing!

PS He just wished me a surgical cric / needle decompression / foley cath insertion on Sunday. Grr.

Bro that looks bad, next thing people will be saying Brown kills people

All I did was warn you every white cloud during internship I've ever known has had a uhhh, eventful (yeah that's it) first few months.

Besides I was just trying to prepare you for the worst case scenario. At least I didn't say during an ice storm on the east side of the district while both hospitals in Tyler are on trauma divert :D.

Statement as of 3:01 PM CST on February 11, 2011

... Hard freeze warning in effect from 10 PM this evening to 10 am
CST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a hard
freeze warning... which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to
10 am CST Saturday.

Unusually cold high pressure over the region will bring another
round of temperatures well below freezing tonight. Temperatures
are expected to go below the freezing mark at most areas by 10
PM... fall into the low to mid 20s during the early morning
hours... then warm to above freezing by 10 am Saturday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A hard freeze warning means temperatures in the mid 20s or colder
are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops
and other sensitive vegetation.

Be careful heating your home. Keep space heaters at least
36 inches away from anything that can burn. Turn it off anytime
you leave the room or go to bed.

To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water
pipes... pipes should be wrapped or drained.

Remember to plug in the block heaters.

Yeah, in the ambulance too.

I'm done with snow and ice after the last 2 weeks. I LOVE snow, but on the first Monday, it took me 6 hours to get home AFTER a 24hr shift, and last Saturday, it took me 7 hour to GET to work.
