a good thing or a bad thing ?

I wouldn't have a job right now if it weren't for my union.

I think it's a good thing. It's easy to get pushed around being in the EMS field and we need unions to stay strong.

Unfortunately many EMS has to have unions to protect and receive honorable wages, howeer personally I do not feel any medical profession should have to have a union. Unions are not usually associated with professional groups, and as well sometimes promote strikes. It is a shame that we cannot obtain ans secure based upon our profession alone.

I will not complain though about the strikes, I thoroughly enjoy working nursing strikes for the extra cash... there is no way they would pay the regular staff the amount they pay temps and they settle with the staff faster....

i think one needs to consider the hx of unions from the turn of the century to present day

unions are what made a prosperous middle class in America, mostly after WW2

the people that initiated them had nads, even in light of oppositional entities like the pinkertons

the unions have even smartened up to current times, being we are now in the days of outsourcing jobs faster than creating them.

seems they are a big (if not biggest) advocate of NHC, realizing that it is any empolyers biggest liability

as such, to be in the health care community, and be union, would be to advocate NHC
