So I am completing my EMT-B course this semester and I'm not sure if i want to go MICT or Nursing school. I'm leaning towards paramedic because 1 day i can hopefully be on flight team but nursing they pay more and more opportunities to advance in the career path.. What has everyone chosen and why?

I think the best thing for you to do is to research flight companies in your area, or an area that you are willing to move to, and find out what they want. From what I've read and heard, some places will hire people who are RNs, people who are both paramedic and RNs, or RTs, or some other combination. It would be sad if you went through a paramedic program to find out that they want you to be an RN instead, or something else.

I've also heard that there are accelerated programs, or you can challenge parts of paramedic, if you are already an RN. It might be faster to do RN first, and then paramedic.

Of course, these are things you are going to have to investigate on your own, or release information about the general area you live in, and where you are willing to move.

One last thing with flight is that it seems like there are stricter physical requirements. Be sure that you are physically acceptable for the job. It would be really sad to go through all this schooling to find out that you can't even work most or all the companies because of something like being too tall.

I'm in Wichita KS willig to move and I'm 5'8" 150 so I don't think would be too tall
