LODD, Conway SC.

It's with deep sadness that I pass on the news of the most recent EMS accident which claimed the lives of three fellow Omniflight employees. The AS 350 crashed shortly after departing Charleston, SC and was en route back to their Conway base. More details to come.

May God rest their soul and prayers be with their families in their time of need.

RIP

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

My heart always sinks even before I read the details when I see the flightweb site put up the black background. Unfortunately, that background has been up too many times over the past few years.

Three people were killed last night shortly after 2300 when an Omniflight helicopter crashed near Georgetown, SC after dropping a patient at the Medical University of SC in Charleston. Names have not been released pending notifications, and no cause was given for the incident. The helicopter was based out of Conway, SC.

Ditto.... Another too sad day. A black background on flightweb does not a good day portend... for someone.

Pilot Patrick Walters, 45

May they rest in peace............................

Additional details on the Omniflight crash

Additional details taken from the WISTV.com website; seems the aircraft was trying to divert to Georgetown airport due to weather when it went down. Here's the link to the WIS website.
