I worked/commuted for 46 hours in the past three days... and I am smashed... I haven't worked this much in months, before I would have no problem doing a flat 48 on 48 off for a month. I find myself alone tonight, Jen is working, and I keep thinking that I am too tired to sleep. I have a two hour+ commute both ways, took me three hours to get home tonight, because I was so tired. Of course, when I got in bed, I laid there for a couple hours, unable to sleep..

Thought I would type for a while, but since I don't have my own blog, and none of my AIM buddies know my ID (ttlwhkr)... I had to come here... Not that there is anything wrong with here.

But I don't want to flood it with musings from my congested brain.

I think I'm tired now.

How are you in the ICU one week and working crazy hours the next? I'm confused here. :o

If you are their buddy, shouldn't they know your ID/SN? Otherwise they'd just be your buddy.

sleep TTLWHKR, the world and all it's owies will simply have to wait until you've rested....

I did similar:

Friday - day work, then errands until almost 10p.

Saturday - up at 0600 to work downtown at the convention center for a standby.
I Left the convention center at 1800, drove to the vollie squad, ran until 0700, and then went back to the Convention Center 0800-1800. Then back to the Vollie squad for a "special meeting" on sme BS that is going on. I'm checking my mail now, then going home.

And working tomorrow AM at 0700.

I wasn't injured as badly as the trauma team made it out to be. I got hit by the airbag and the wheel. What's a little trauma? And the bleeding? I have an ulcer. So the blood was prolly there before. I still have to work, and pay my bills, broken ribs or not. And the only treatment for the ulcer is to either quit; or drink a soothing, disgusting liquid much like pepto bismol twice a day.

Besides, "I'm only an ambulance driver".

And I am..

Until I take a class to make sure I didn't forget all of my EMT-P stuff. I took the NR test again. So I'm an NREMT-P again, but I haven't functioned as a Paramedic (at least not legally  ) since last May. Plus, I'm in a new EMS region, we have different protocols.

Plain and simple truth was that we needed more money. Jen has education bills, car payments, mortgage, medical, etc.. And I can't sit around all the time, it was making me depressed, and what's worse it's getting to be winter. So I would have been inside all day, every day, and even more depressed.

I was working before my accident, I just didn't share that w/ yall. I did part time non emerg transports, stuff like that for a hospital service. House has oil heat, it costs a lot. So, to pay for that to get filled, I had to part with Whacker 5, 7 & 8. I just sold my last ambulance a week ago, partially restored, got 7K. Which is good for the work I put into it. I still have an old mustang that I'm looking to sell, the neighbor wants it, but can't meet my asking price. I may be able to trade it into the local dealership for a nice chunk off a new truck. I've decided to give up the ambulance collecting, may sell off my ems antiques too, not much good with out the ambulances.

That's my life. How's yours?
