[I decided to post on the general EMS talk rather than the NREMT section to get a faster response, and because it doesn't seem like many people are active in that part]

Well earlier today I called to check avalible times, it the earliest was 11/08/10 but after going online to register there was a spot avaliable for 10/29/2010 [tomorrow.] I do feel ready for this exam, however I was a little taken back about how soon I was able to test.

Can you guys offer some tips/advice for me tonight to prepare for the test? I It's about 545pm, I work overnight @ 10pm-8am, then the test is @ 5pm. I figured I would make the best of my shift and read up the cardiology/peds/OB section of my book and do a few tests on JB-Test-Prep online tonight. Then get off at 8 and get some sleep untill about 3pm.

So any advice is welcome, and I'll keep you guys posted on my results!

Thanks.:)

Don't even look at any kind of EMS/Medical books, opractice test's, videos or anything.

At this point you know it or you don't!

Take it easy, breath man, almost there!

I agree dont even look at anything. i didnt look at anything in like 4 weeks before my emr written and aced it no problem, i just took my time and read each question and all the answers and it worked. Good Luck!!

Do a LIGHT study. Briefly look through some notes. Get a good night sleep. Eat a good breakfast before the test. Good luck! :)

You passed your class... you were obviously taught what you needed to know for the test, at the very least.

I took my final in January, and aside from doing only a couple of hours at an NREMT prep class a few weeks before, I didn't study from January till my test in March. I passed first try. You can too.

Don't worry about any of the testing websites or prep books. Give it a shot using pure education the first time you take it. If you don't pass (70% pass first try), THEN you can think about paying good money for other tools.

But only if you fail should you use other tools, because that way you A) know what you missed, and can selectively study that stuff, and B ) not get varying ideas of what the test is like from different sources of info without actually taking the test first and knowing how it is.

+ 1

if you went to any decent school and paid attention you will do fine. Test is very easy, I assume most that fail do so because of nerves rather than a lack of education.

Exactly, thanks man!

Yeah guys, thanks for the words of advice. Just hoping to get through this shift, then get some good sleep before the test.
