Tic-Tac sized Pacemaker

This sounds fantastic (In theory). I hope they are able to get this off the ground and into full scale research and development.

So do I...I'm especially impressed about the possibility of a non-invasive procedure to implant it.

I do have some concerns about how EMS would deal with this small of an object when using an AED/defib on a patient with one of these implanted but I'm sure it's something that could be worked around.

I wonder if it will work with the current magnets (For situations where these things go out of whack). I am sure that (if/when) this device makes it, they will post a video of the procedure on OR-Live.com for us to get an idea of the process involved. I would be very interested in watching that.

By the current magnets, do you mean; would external magnetic fields impair the device? I imagine that the device uses Energy Harvesting technology and in fact the ambient magnetic fields would serve as an adjunct power source for the device. Of course this is only a conjecture.

As far as EMS is concerned, Hmm, that could be an issue, not sure of a workaround for that one...
