There is nothing like a good Hatzalah video...

Like I said, neat uniforms. All EMT's should do this, no boots, no tats, and peyos for everyone.

I suppose they are all male here in US?

"There is a Hatzalah service not far from me in the Catskills during the summer where a large Jewish population comes to vacation."
And the name "Borscht Belt" was because they're all from Russia, nu? ;)

Not only are they all male, but they recently had a big hulaballo in Brooklyn from a group of women who wanted to be involved with the agency to treat OB calls

I live in a neighborhood where they operate and will attempt to clarify some points.

1. I believe that they are NOT in the nyc system as a vollie, but rather as a private, just without any employees.
2. They get their calls from a seven digit "hotline" number.
3. all the neighborhoods in nyc operate under one dispatch system and license, but maintain it's own busses and volunteers.
4.They mainly operate in scramble mode, asking on the air for availible units to respond, and one unit to pick up the bus.
5. Their POV's are registered with NYS as EASV's and must have a basic O2 and trauma to be registered. (medics will also carry a monitor and drugs in their car)
6. On Saturday some neighborhoods will employ non-Jews only to drive back from Hospital
7. there has been recent stories of woman wanting to join, the funny thing is that Staten Island has some old time members who are woman.
If anyone has any other Q's I'll be happy to (try) to answer.

Cousin-in-law-in-law says they are a good organization, mobilize a lot of community assets or community benefit. That's it. Florida, right?

Just like the origins of modern Israel. OK to have females in the Haganah until the English were gone, then get back to the sink and the cradle.
Course, we did that after WWII also.

Well put. Interesting how men can be really enlightened right up until they don't have to be anymore.
