I messaged my Captain letting her know I was available to run with them as Observer all night Sunday and all day Monday. She messaged me back OK and told me hopefully it will be quiet because she needs a break.
Not two hours later my oldest daughter (she's 16, yes I had her young) gets in touch with me from the roller skating rink she went to with her youth group...she took a hard fall, hitting her back and neck.
I ran through the typical questions, had her youth leader check her pupils, and didn't really like the answers I was being given. I don't know why no one transported her from there but they got her home as quickly as they could.
In the mean time I had talked with the Captain and asked if she would look at her. She was at our house before my daughter got home.
She didn't like certain things during her assessment and advised me to have her seen. She called dispatch, got an ambulance toned out to our house. My daughter was backboarded and collared and transported by "my" ambulance to ED.
I road in ambulance but up front, due to policy regarding family members but I was completely and totally fine. I read another member's quote on her about it being patient's emergency, not mine. Plus I knew me being scared or upset would do no one any good. I don't think people believed me on my ride alongs when I said I was OK.
Anyway, she's been to cat scan and x ray. Waiting on results. They brought percoset in for her a little bit ago. She still has collar on, won't take that off until reports come back....still waiting.
I playfully blamed my Captain, saying it was her fault because she said the Q word.
