I like how they have it set up here in Colorado Springs. If im not mistaken Station 7 is who responds with swat. It also helps that fire responds to all medical calls so you have an extra set of hands in case SHTF. I would like to see company's at least offer vests of some kind ant let the staff choose if they want to wear it. I know that schools are getting better about teaching scene awareness. One of the EMT classes I took we spent a fell day on disarming and personal safety. The second one I took (had me NREMT twice) has scenarios where you had scenes turn bad to remind you that nothing is ever completely safe.
