Just curious: Does Texas recognize the medical first responder certification?

I think MFRs and ECAs have their place. When I was a MFR in Indiana, there was very little difference between what an MFR can do and what an EMT-B could do. At our automobile manufacturing plant we had our own "ED" on site, complete w/ two trauma beds, trauma shower and a few regular examining rooms. When an medical emergency happened, we responded, we stabilized on scene then transported to IHS (Industrial Health Services - our ED). If needed, the pt. was then transported by ambulance to the local ED. Also, if on scene we determined that the pt. was critical, we would call for an ambulance to meet us at the nearest door for quick transport to the hospital. No need to make a stop at our ED.ECA's are a dying breed (thank God!). Most MFR's are at least at the EMT level...........................
