Here is my situation: I'm currently looking for my first job in EMS, as an IFT EMT. There are currently two prospective companies where my chances look good, lets call them company A and company B.

Company A is local, and has a much better reputation, with high employee satisfaction, and (apparently) great equipment and rigs. For these reasons Company A is my preferred choice. I've had one interview with that station manager already, and he called me back for another one with the other managers wednesday, which from every employee I know, means that i'm in, it just needs to be official.

Company B is a larger chain, higher turnover rates, and decent equipment/rigs. I put in my application, and got a call the next day from a manager requesting an interview. Everything i've heard is that they rarely contact any applicants, so if contact is made, the job is almost guaranteed. I will go into this interview on thursday.

Here is the dilemma... I am looking for full time employment. Company A does not hire full time, and it could be 6 months- 1 year before they switch me to full time. Company B will hire me full time to start with. Keep in mind that nothing is set in stone yet, how do I (in my interviews) approach this topic? If i get hired part time by company A, I would like to work part time at B. If I don't get hired at A, I would work full time at B.

Any help is appreciated here. Thanks guys!

Apply to mc donalds and work at company A till you can get full time.
