Pros
As far as privates they sound decent, they have mostly 12hr shifts. They have newer equipment, pay looks pretty good for the area. Decent protocols, it is a good area to work.
Cons
The Fire Dept. calls the shots, from what I was told by Medics who work there it can be difficult to establish good teamwork on calls. The retirement is only a 401k, and I would be curious to see what happens since one of the FDs is trying to establish there own EMS service, Sunstar has already said that if this happens then their system would be unmaintainable, according to press releases.
That being said, I have never worked there. But I almost applied, I went as far as to find some of their employess on facebook and call them to ask about the service. General consensus, they liked the company.
