I passed my EMTB practicals almost two weeks ago, and my authorization to test is now ready to print. During my course I averaged 85% on our weekly quizzes, and received a 94% on our hundred question final exam. As I understand these were from the test question bank. Practicals were pretty easy, had some trouble with two skills based stations but flew by on assessments. I'm definitely going to skim through my notes, focusing on my trouble areas. What I'm wondering is if it would be entirely neccessary to invest great amounts of time to continue to cram this information. It feels almost pointless to regurgitate information I already know solid. I feel like I have a pretty firm grasp on the information, but the posting that had a few copied NREMT written questions that was frozen - stumped me pretty bad.

I guess I'm nervous I don't actually know my stuff and will freeze up come written. Eek.

Did any of you feel confident in your knowlege, and did decent on practice tests - then fail miserably?

I believe you should STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!! Specially since some of the sample questions stumped you!! Study night and day until the day before your test; then relax all day and night!! Get online and take pratice test after pratice test, read your Book over an over. Plus it's all scenairo based testing! When I took my test, I felt very overwhelemed when I was taking my test; as I felt like it was more based on what to do first, 2nd, 3rd etc,...! And I would definately study your ***. sheets!!!
I passed though! I feel like if you leave thinking you did well, expect to Fail, but if you leave like you have NO FREAKN' clue, you have a good chance!:P

I got an A as a final in the class as well, but I still studied like crazy before the test. You should probably still study some more. The questions that were on my test were from the NREMT question bank as well, but the actual NREMT test was a lot different from the questions that we had in class. Good Luck.

I had a somewhat similar problem. I did extremely well in my course and each time I opened my book I couldn't concentrate on studying because I was just rereading info that I already had memorized. I did a loose review of my notes, took a bunch of practice tests online and checked out a book I posted in the study thread here. The NREMT isn't about your book knowledge, it's about putting what you've learned and your practicals together. Its almost completely scenarios. So it's going to test your instincts and reactions. I didn't study for the NREMT nearly as much as I did for my final exam in my course because I figured at this point if I didn't know it by now I wouldn't. I highly recommend the book by the way, it was a great example of the NREMT questions and really helps you out on the actual test. If you know your stuff like you say you do, I'd just review the book. Good luck!

Hey all, thanks for all the responses they were helpful.

I ended up just briefly scanning my notes at around 9pm last night, took the test this morning, and found that I passed by the afternoon.
