Hey abc, I got a question in regard to that ER tech job. What are the requirement to get that job?

im looking in to ER tech positions too. As for requirements every place is different. A place i volunteered at has almost no requirements and do all on the job training...you dont even have to have taken an EMT course. Other places require experiece either in the field, or one of the following CNA/NA/MA/LPN/EMT/Paramedic.

at my job, you have to be at least an EMT-B (Paramedic preferred). the LPNs are on a higher pay scale than us because they're allowed to hang IV medications <_<. even if you're a Basic, you have to maintain your ACLS to transport tele pts here.

Where I work, you either need your EMT-B or CNA. Then they train you to their protocols. I wish you luck, this job can be challenging. Keep your head together and stay on top of things. Show them what you got. Try not to be to cocky, this doesn't go over well. Especially with the seasoned and lifers in the hospital. Always be willing to help and learn. Be polite and ask questions. Make sure when you don't know something, admit it. Then ask questions and learn. It takes time, maintain your confidence and hold your head high. Each day will be a new challenge. Go for it!!!
