Hi Guys!

I've looked all over the web and searched this site, but I'm still left with questions. I am moving from Florida to Fenton Missouri in the next month. I found that Sanford Brown has an EMT-B program up in Fenton, but have not been able to locate any other schools? The website for Sanford Brown says the offer either an AAS or diploma degree, which is the better option to pursue? My ultimate goal is to become a paramedic. Anyone know how long their course is? I can't find it on the website anywhere. ahh!

Thanks so much guys! I really appreciate the help :P

i am from missouri, heres the skinny

I am from the St. Louis area, here's some details on other schools.

For EMT-B
Saint Louis Community College-In general a good baseline, I recommend the Tuesday/Thursday evening class at Florissant Valley if you choose to go this route.

Saint Charles County Ambulance District-Outstanding program, although it has a longish waiting list. The instructors are all road medics and they have a staff there who are outstanding educators. There is a longish waiting list for the EMT program but in my opinion it is well worth the wait.

Respond Right
I dont know a lot about this program, but I have heard good things.

East Central College in Union has a great EMS program as well.

IHM also has a decent program, just google IHM health studies.

I dont know much about Sanford Brown's program, I would recommend stlcc, SCCAD, or Respond Right just from what Ive heard through the grapevine.

For the most part, these schools also offer a paramedic program. To my knowledge, only ECC, STLCC, and SB offer an associates degree.

With that being said, SCCAD works in cooperation with Lindenwood University for there EMT/medic program in which one enrolled in the program can attend LU, and SCCADs EMT and medic program, and ultimately graduate with a BS in Paramedicine and Fire Service Management.

if you have any other questions, feel free to pm me or respond here

Hey, from the area as well. You should look into Jefferson College. Hands down one of the best EMS programs around. Can't say that I recommend Respond Right or Sanford Brown. Having seen some of there students on clinical sites, you'd be better off at one of the community colleges.

As far as the certificate / degree thing goes:

Get you AAS in Paramedicine / EMS. More education is always good and it will look good to employers.

Doesn't MO require a Degree to become a MICT (Paramedic)?

No, although I was reading an article that stated we might be headed that way in the next few years
