Hey all,

I've been working 911 as a medic in a different county but I'd like a job closer to home. I know that SLS does 911, as does Bell Ambulance. I know that Falck/verihealth operate in the county but I don't know if they do 911. If I could stay doing EMS I would like to, but does anyone work in the county and know anything about these companies? Any idea about pay?

Thanks

Sky

Hi Sky,
My "day job" (LOL) is at the Coast Guard base in Two Rock (Petaluma), and we send our students to the main agencies to do their ride alongs that do 911. We place them with AMR, and Petaluma Fire who are the primary 911 providers at least in that part of the county, I know that AMR runs that gig all the way up from Petaluma to Santa Rosa, I cannot speak for the rest of the County.

I THINK....I saw an opening advertised by AMR for a Paramedic on Envision or Indeed recently - don't quote me on that. Not sure about the pay, but for myself with AMR in the county I live in, starting pay for part time its $20/hr base pay rate. Again that is part time , not sure if its different from the full timers. Sonoma is probably somewhere in that neighborhood being its in the same area of CA. Someone else on here might be able to better gauge that as I am newbie with AMR. You should also check out Napa AMR, and Medic Ambulance in Solano County - they are all 911 as well if your not able to find any openings with your first choice. Those are all reasonable commutes for the Bay Area.
Sonoma County's EMS Authority is under Coastal Valley EMS (protocols, ect)
Good Luck!
