Ok, so I just passed NREMT!! It was only computerized test. When I finished EMT school I was told that the Skills Final we had at school was our NREMT Skills test, and I am hearing from others that you still have to take a NREMT Practical? On my log in for NREMT it says N/A fpr practical exam, can anyone clarify?

The EMT level skills are done in your program. The NREMT only has 'official' skills testing for the Intermediate and Paramedic levels.

In my B program my instructor submitted to the NREMT that we had completed the course and practicals.

Thats strange, I thought your NREMT skills testing was done by people certified by the NREMT to do such testing and who werent affiliated with your school?

We took our NREMT practical skills tests the same day as our school final, but the paramedics who tested us werent school instructors and werent gunshy about failing people. If anyone failed more than two skill stations they couldnt retest and couldnt go on to the written exam portion.

Yeah I got my NREMT packet in the mail today with the Cert, card and nice patch!! It says I passed both written and practical. Our written final in class was first and last day of class was Skills final it was done by instructors and Paramedics from AMR. And the instructors were just as tough as the Paramedics from outside school, there were about 6 people that failed on the last day of class because they failed two stations. I felt so bad for those guys and gals, because they paid all that money and went all the way through school and passed final written but has to start all over :( One of the guys was at the top of our class with a grade above 100% I am so happy to move on through this process!! Riverside County Registration is next.

Yes the NREMT skills is done in your program. Most area's would have the skills test already at the class to show you can pass it. Its the same test, and gets submitted to NREMT and probably your state as well to show compentency
