Hello All:) I'm asking for some help on my resume. I'm completly new to the EMS word and just received my NT and EMT-B Certs. This is my second career for this life. I am 39 and have been working at an auto dealership for the past 21 years. I started there as a wash boy and worked my way through the ranks to become Parts Manager. Needless to say its time to move on and do what I always wanted to do.

I did graduate from High School, but the only other formal education I have is my EMT-B Cert. How do I make my resume looking appealing with only the 1 job and such little education. I start my EKG Basic in a couple of weeks and I am registered for my IV Cert class in March.

My main goal is to work as EMT-B for a couple of years and then go back for my Medic. I would like to get on with a flight crew after I earn my Medic.

TIA for any advise:)

I have heard the getting into a flight job is extremely competitive. You may need years of experience as a medic before being able to achieve such a goal. Good goal though.

I would say, just look for jobs, start out where everyone else does. Put in the time like you already did before, then start applying for jobs closer to what you want to be doing.

In terms of your resume, just carry on about the similarities between your previous job. Teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, maintaining equipment, so on and so forth. Good luck!
