Hello, I am just a Basic- EMT working in EMS as a side job, trying to move from State Law enforcement, to federal, and don't know how to describe it. Should it go under "Education" or "Work Experience".

Fixed it for ya. If you're working EMS even as a side job, this should be considered work experience, unless I am missing something:).

The reason i said just is because its a side job. under work experience what would you put the description as?

Understood, but respectfully, just a side job it hardly is. It's actually pretty cool that you do both, IMO.

As far as what to put, speak from the heart. I like to type what I feel then proof read. What is it you've gained from being an EMT, what are your duties, but most of all how has it made you a stronger, and more marketable soon to be State Law enforcement employee?

Well gurby helped me with this: "Provided Basic Life Support care to patients in out-of-hospital setting. Responded to 911 calls and assessed, treated and transported patients. Provided inter-facility transport services for low acuity patients."-- is this accurately describing the role of an EMT(i was just certified at the end of August. Starting first real alone shift this week)
Also i am currently working for State Law enforcement(State Parole) trying to get to the federal Gov't.

That sounds about right as that sounds similar to my resume under job description, but remember, if worded right the description can showcase both what is you do, and you have gained formal training (education) from it.

Once you finally get the interview, be sure to drive this point home as well. Best of luck!:)

Side note: my mom is a retired parole officer, so that's why I think you doing both is kinda cool.

Ooh tell her thank you for prev service, along with yourself :). Thank you for all the input, the feds are weird because there are sooo many steps before getting to actually sit down and be interviewed.
