Restaurant diner dies after choking

At first I was thinking he must have been apneic for a while! Then I saw the 79 y/o. Poor old buzzard didn't have it in him to go through that. Then again, what came first- the chicken or the egg? Either way, what a way to go, thats too bad.

Successful choking save (airway cleared). Unsuccessful MI resuscitation attempt. Sounds like the off-duty paramedic on scene gave the gentleman a good chance to survive.

Blenheim St John Ambulance operations team leader Leon Earle said their ambulance was deployed at 9.38pm. He said the patient choked which led to a cardiac arrest.

The only successgful CPR I saw was on such a pt.

Turned out she was a no-code too. She was chipper once they got her up and around with her little tele wires, eating good chow and walkig the halls. Hope she went back to a different home.
