Relocating (Houston)

I was wondering about how available jobs are (generally speaking) around Houston or the burbs thereof. Hopefully I'll be relocating next fall with an EMT-B to get back into the university gig.

Also, on a related tangent, Dallas and New Orleans. Those being my other two options.

Are you looking into 911 or IFT work?

Houston, alot of IFT places with wide swings in pay scales and work conditions. 911 is done by the City (fire based) or various volunteer outfits.

Dallas, pretty big mix of everything, general impression from the folks on this board is that it's pretty competitive up there.

New Orleans, you can put in your app to be on file, but they're still on a hiring freeze. The pay is decent if you can get on. You'll need an ACLS cert, NR and LA state Certs.

Yep. Over 200 privates. I havent worked for any of them but Baystar, Costal, and Northstar seem to be towards the top of the pay scale
