I am currently a basic in upstate ny. I recently found that the ARC has a new course "emergency medical response" which it touts is for training EMR's. I was thinking this may be a good program to become a trainer so that I could offer training at my college in the ems club. Does anyone know if the course is recognized by NYS?

I can't comment about it being recognized by NYS, but the program is far from new. It's been around for at least eighteen years.

They had the rest cross all those years ago ;)

I did the EMR course when it was a requirement for the sheriff's academy way back in the 80s. It might have been called something else but it was the 40 hour medical responder course for first responders.

It definitely is not new.

I was an instructor, as well. It used to be called "emergency response". At our chapter it was geared toward industrial "medical team responders" and future EMTs who wanted a leg up on the class. I taught a lot of security guards and Boeing people.
