I just got my notice to renew my E.M.T. Basic certification and on it it states that.
"Only certified EMS professionals who can document a minimum of 6 months active affiliation with an EMS service, may request inactive status. A certified EMS professional may not request inactive status in their initial re certification period if they have never been affiliated with an ambulance/rescue service or functioned in a patient health care setting."
I haven't been employed in the EMS field since I was certified in 2009. I was not at all aware of this requirement for NREMT. Is there anything I can do to re-cert without having to take the class over again? I come from an EMS family and I am still very confident in my E.M.T. skills.
Can anyone offer any advice or info?
