I live in California and my EMT-B with the NREMT will be expiring soon. My question is:

Since you already have an EMT-P with the NREMT, are you required to also have an EMT-B if you wanted to be able to work as an EMT-B?

It is my understanding that most states do not require this. The nremt will cert you at the highest level you test/pass. Most states ( that I know of) allow you to work below your license level.
