Are the protocols for real? I got a link from someone on these boards. the link is http://www.state.nj.us/health/ems/regs.shtml

I was reading the protocols and are they for real?

It mentions after starting an IV for IV therapy you need to call med control for which fluid to give.

Can you give valium in an active seizure prior to contact med control?

yes, those are really the protocols. in NJ , you call for everything!

And you thought I was kidding in the other discussion about how lame NJ EMS is.

Take all the negative emotions you're feeling about the ridiculousness of the protocols you're reading and multiply by 100. Only then will you start to come close to realizing just how bad it is.

I wasn't kidding earlier. You were wondering, "How bad can it be?". You're just now seeing the tip of the the iceberg. It's not really as bad as you're starting to realize. It's so much worse.
