Question for California State Accreditation

Hello,

Sorry if there is another thread about this, and if there is please let me know.
I am a prospective EMT (passed NREMT and finished OC expanded scope courses) but has not yet been accredited for any county.

I am having trouble with getting OC Accreditation due to my lack of California State EMT card. I have looked through the website and it seems like California State EMT certification cannot be done online and I must go to a local EMS office. My understanding was that "local office = OC EMS office." So I started my accreditation process but I got a missing documentation notification saying that I need to show it.

My question is:
1. Must I get a California State EMT card before the OC accreditation?
2. If so, where should I contact to get it?

Yes. The CA EMT card is the foundation certificate that you need to work anywhere in California as an EMT. In some counties, they'll want: additional training, another background check, and your money. They do this via accreditation.

2. If so, where should I contact to get it?

The OC EMS office. Looks like you might be able to do it online.

You want to fill out the paperwork/application for the California EMT initial certificate. It's the gray card in the picture. Cost $110 for 2 years per their website.
