Private paramedics in Orange County, Ca?

Why are private paramedics not allowed to practice in the OC? As it stands the fire dept. is the only ALS resource. Is there a reason for this, and will this change?
 
The reason, sarcastically, is that the OC is trying to be as screwed up as LA County. They are thinking of changing that policy, but they have found a way around ALS by adding CCT, which is two EMT Basics and an RN. If they need an ALS IFT, they call 911.
 
Thats so weird. I read that costa mesa wanted private paramedics and the medical director for OC said it would be fine. I wonder how long it will be till private medic will be in the OC. Its only a matter of time i guess.
