I know that community ems/paramedicine is now doing some of this, but why is prevention not emphasized in ems the way it is in the fire service and even law enforcement?
For example, the same way the fire service does smoke detector installation and fire inspections and the way that law enforcement does crime prevention details and security surveys of houses at the owners request, why does EMS not do injury prevention details. For example have EMTs certified to assess a residence for fall risks for the elderly, get certified as CarFit technicians and similar
I know it might be harder in a for profit company, but in the volunteer and municipal services it can be done
