I thought this was really adorable and looked like it was fun to make.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is long gone, but that doesn’t stop the staff at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore. From administrators to nurses, cleaning crews to surgeons, everyone threw on a pair of pink gloves and got down in the spirit of raising awareness for breast cancer.

Very cool, I liked it.

Old people dancing make me giggle.

I know breast cancer is very serious, but it seems to overshadow other types of cancer. i don't see campaigns to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer, brain cancer, skin cancer or prostate cancer. None has a specific color, nor months, or ribbons that are associated with them. I wonder why that is.

I'm in the same boat as you. But if you really think about it... How many different types of cancer is there? And which ones do you think are the most commonly diagnosed?

My father was diagnosed with cancer of the bladder many years ago. I now volunteer for events such as the Ride to Conquer Cancer in Calgary, Alberta. I'm shaving my head for cancer for Edmonton's "Cops for Cancer" next month.

Prostate cancer is blue and PCa awareness month is September.

I thought it was Movember?

That one's been pretty visible around here lately. Until checking the website just now, I thought it was only for prostate cancer, not men's health in general. I guess that's just what local groups are focusing on.

ETA: This is totally off-topic and doesn't have any awareness-raising function whatsoever, but I couldn't help but be reminded of one carrier squadron's idea of fun at work...
