So recently passed my nremt and now got hired. I know you have to take a physical exam by one of the doctors. I have relativiely high bp usually avg is 150/85. Not kn any meds. Sometimes its lower sometimes ots higher.

My question is would that make me fail my exam. It was around 140/80 yesterday which isnt too bad.

My guess would be no. U should be fine.

I don't know about the exam, but have you talked to a doctor about your blood pressure? If my resting BP was chronically higher than 150/85, I would be kind of concerned...

No and i know i probably should. Im just curious say you dont meet their bp guidelines. Would they instantlt remove you from the position or maybe allow you to go on some form of bp meds and try again

I am not a doctor, but the first thing to try before drugs would be lifestyle changes - you wouldn't necessarily need to go on meds. Cutting out smoking and alcohol, eating healthier, exercising more, etc, could help. Chronic high blood pressure puts a lot of stress on the body (on your heart, kidneys, etc). Even though you feel fine right now, the effects build up over time. You don't want to end up like many of our patients 20 years from now...
