Partner Problems...HALP!

The one thing that I have learned in my 13 years of being a medic is that you DO NOT mess with the controlled substances. Not only is it a legal issue but imagine what would happen if something wad awry with the log/usage and you were ultimately terminated. How do you explain that one to a prospective employer. You would pretty much be blacklisted. Squads do not touch people who have issues with narcs and accountability.
About 2 weeks ago we had some fentanyl, morphine and Ativan go missing, not all of it , but enough. Anyways the medic that was on took the proper steps in notifying mgmt./chief. The lax attitude they had amazed me, saying it wasn't a big deal, they would deal with it later.
I personally would be going nuts if something was missing on my watch. I don't want any black marks against my cert.
