Basically, she says that, despite having adult contestants sign "death waivers", the company staging the event cannot put contestants in danger due to crowding and unsafe obstacles, and that the rescue swimmer's delay was unconscionable.

A not-unlikely scenario for the death was he went in, another runner landed on his groin, and that was that.

Disagreements with the article:
I heard there was another one perhaps at another brand of similar event, and there is an implication that having four or five friends jump into the mud blindly could have saved him.
