I've done some research and have yet to find what I am looking for, so I apologize if this has been asked.

I am looking to start paramedic school in the fall to obtain my certificate. It's two semesters that will give me 18 credits (though I doubt it would transfer into anything) then clinicals.

My question is, is it doable to take some nursing pre-reqs while in paramedic school? Before you say just get your ADN, know that I have planned it all out, and getting an ADN is something for the long term if I burnout or whatever.

Thanks!

Most ADN and medic degrees have the same or similar pre reqs. I went to a cc taking a full course load an working full time. Time management is key. If you are planning on moving on it may be a good idea to get a degree .

Thanks for the reply. I would have no problem getting an AAS in Paramedics as like you said most of the pre-reqs are the same, but I don't know if MA has adopted this yet. Because I can't find anything for degree programs except for Northeastern University, but it seems they are shutting down that program.

I think it's very doable but that's coming from someone who worked at least 36-48 hours per week on top of full time medic school.

7 days a week for a year sucked but it paid the bills and got me my medic card.

Yeah on top of all that I want/need to be working. It's probably smarter to just wait until I get my cert, but it sucks having to put off classes towards a degree.
