Public safety workers killed in I-65 crash

Charles Gould was well-respected for his expert crime analysis. Friends say Vania Shields brought compassion to her job as a paramedic.

On alert for any call, firefighters and EMTs in Bargersville and Wayne Township were ill-prepared to see the crumpled wreckage of one of their own colleagues in a deadly crash on I-65 early Thursday morning.
