Overseas paramedic qualifictions

Hello,

My name is Shay and I am an Israeli paramedic.
I am thinking about going to Australia to work and travel.
I want to know if my Israeli paramedic certificate allows me to work in Australia? Do I need to pass a qualifiction test or course? Is there a need for paramedics in Australia?
Can someone direct me to a government organization that is responsible for paramedic qualifications?

It is different state to state. Start by going to Wikipedia and putting in Emergency medical services in Australia. That will give you an idea of the system, and you can link jump from there to learn more.

I don't know of any service that will let you work on a short term basis, as they will want you to do a training course, mentoring period, etc. having said that, I don't know all of the services in Australia, so I could well be wrong.

Also, I have no idea about Israeli qualifications and who recognises them, I would start with emailing some services and asking them directly.
